The LORD God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places... Habakkuk 3:19 KJV
I like to call this music “kitchen table praise”! It is music captured in the moment while praising the Lord. It’s not practiced or rehearsed; it comes straight from the soul. Like sitting around a kitchen table just singing about Jesus and life in general. These songs were born out of everyday life—the experiences and moments from 30 years of living.
Jesus is our everyday Provider through the highest highs and the lowest lows. We encounter him in the budding plants of the garden, the stirring of a mountain stream and the rich dirt of the field. When you take time to find him in the day to day stuff, you will know He’s going to take care of you just like He does the little sparrows.
For each song, God gave the tune and message and each musician brought their own voice to the mix. After listening to the basic tracks, each musician created their part with the sounds they know come from their instruments. The songs were learned in the studio— so the accompaniment wasn’t overly practiced. It was all about being in the moment, feeling the music and just letting it happen. This album is not about a style—it’s about the message of the music and the peace that comes from praising Jesus.
My prayer is that in the purity and rawness of the music, you will have an encounter with your Maker and you will just have to stop and praise God simply because He’s so good!
